Mitsubishi Motors

In its 10,000 square metre facility at Todd Park, Mitsubishi Motors New Zealand has the largest and most comprehensive used parts recycling operation of any automotive brand in New Zealand.

Mitsubishi purchases "end of life" vehicles, strips out high-quality reusable parts and resells them to vehicle repairers. What remains is dismantled, separated into elements such as steel, copper and aluminium and recycled through specialists.

Harmful greenhouse gas HFC134a, a hydrofluorocarbon used in air conditioning units, is recovered for use in repaired units. Catalytic converters are stripped of their precious metals and the casings reused.

Our practice of recycling used parts also means that we reduce the need to import parts, thus conserving resources and limiting the carbon footprint left by manufacture and freight.
